Hello, there! I’m Sean Szitas, owner and operator of Sean Szitas Photography located in the gorgeous city of Asheville, North Carolina. As a storyteller at heart my aim is to capture the magic, love, and the emotions that make your wedding day truly unforgettable!
My passion and journey with photography as a creative outlet began when I was in middle school, taking cameras and photos wherever I went and quickly being known for always having a point-n-shoot camera in my hands. Soon my passion for photography shifted from nature and still life to portraits and storytelling. I’ve been indulging my love for that with wedding photography for over ten years now and the passion and creativity I have for it continue to grow as I grow my business, encounter new challenges and opportunities and I can’t wait to keep doing what I love!
I began doing senior portraits of my peers in high school, focusing on wedding photography as my senior project and soon applying to Randolph Community College for their renown photography program. Studying and honing my craft for two years helped shape my knowledge for photography–learning commercial, photojournalism and film photography gave me a wonderful appreciation for this medium.
My wedding photography business has bounced from Greensboro to Durham, North Carolina before settling into Asheville with me and my partner in late 2017. After a year of being located in Asheville I found myself surrounded by a wonderful network of vendors, the most gorgeous landscapes and backdrops (*cough cough Blue Ridge Parkway*) and have flourished over the last seven years.
My style can be described as a perfect blend of documentary and fine art photography. I believe in capturing the genuine essence of each couple—their unique personalities, the laughter, the tears, and the raw emotions that encapsulate their love story. From intimate elopements to grand celebrations, I am committed to telling your story in a way that is true to who you are as a couple.
I understand the importance of creating a comfortable and relaxed environment for my clients. I value building meaningful connections with each couple, as this connection is essential for capturing the purest and most genuine moments. Wedding days are already stressful enough and I pride myself on being one vendor my couples never have to worry about.
