I’m not a normal wedding - i’m a brewery wedding
An ongoing trend for weddings nowadays is to have them at a brewery that can host weddings and events. Yes, breweries that are large enough to host your big or small wedding with splendid resources and accommodations to make your wedding magical and true to your vision! I photographed my first wedding at a brewery in 2019 and since then I’ve photographed a number of weddings at various local breweries in Asheville, North Carolina.

So what makes your wedding at a brewery different then other venues?
I think the answer is obvious but first and foremost it sets the tone for your guests that they are in a good time! Weddings held at breweries tend to have a more relaxed vibe for the couple and their guests as well as an undertone for throwing down during the reception! I’m always excited to photograph any wedding at a brewery here in Asheville, North Carolina because I know that means the wedding will be fun!
For Kacee and Tom getting married at Hi-Wire Brewery that was definitely the case! Their wedding day was exactly what every couple dreams of having their wedding day look like— easy, no rushing and relaxed, romantic and fun! With their wedding being a destination wedding for them and their guests they brought the fun, the party and the magic for their wedding day. Hi-Wire Brewing couldn’t have been a better fit for their wedding day, hosting their loving friends and family that were ready to celebrate and honor Kacee and Tom getting married!

Ceremony Spot
Hi Wire Brewing offers an iconic ceremony space for your wedding day with kudzu draped backdrop, an outdoor bar for your guests to enjoy beverages before the wedding ceremony. For Kacee and Tom’s wedding guests mingled and hung out in the ceremony space before Kacee walked down the aisle. They held an intimate ceremony in the bier garden officiated by one of their close friends, had readings led by their respective mothers and shared personal vows.
First look & first dance
You know as a wedding photographer I love the wedding day as a whole but there are a few moments throughout the day that just steal my heart no matter what! Kacee and Tom did a lot during their wedding day that I absolutely love. I’m a sucker for a first look and for a first dance! I loved photographing their first look and portraits around Hi Wire’s Event Space and the venue, it’s fun getting to incorporate the unique venue and buildings into their portraits for truly unique and creative photos!
Quick Tips for your first look and first dance
First looks are a great way to get in certain photos of you and your partner, your wedding party and family before the ceremony to ensure you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy cocktail hour!
Whether your first dance is choreographed or not, make sure you don’t block each other’s faces with your arms or elbows so that your photographer can get your facial expressions as you dance
If you’re nervous about sharing personal vows during your ceremony your first look is a good time to share an intimate moment with your partner before the ceremony and the craziness that ensues after!
It’s okay to be nervous about your first dance just remember to smile, choose a song you and your partner both know, love and can dance to. No one expects a meticulous choreographed dance -— just a few twirls and a kiss!
Surprise Weiner mobile!
I would say that having a giant Weiner mobile make an arrival at a wedding is a first for me, but I’m not complaining! Hell, I would even say that I would want it at least one of my weddings every year! Kacee drove the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile post-college for a year and they came to her wedding to show their love and support for her wedding! How cool!! Check out the photos below!
